Below are the test results from both my pre-assessment and my summative assessment that the students took. The pre-assessment, taken on the first day of the lessons, shows how little students knew about the information regarding adding and subtracting fractions (pictured on the left). The learning targets were to successfully add and subtract fractions and the test had 11 total questions around those targets. The first six covered material on adding fractions, LT 1, and the final 5 covered material on subtracting fractions and finding an equivalent fraction, LT2. Both tests were the same questions, allowing for true signs of growth in understanding to be shown. The summative assessment, pictured on the right, shows far more green indicating correct answers from the students. This shows a great increase in understanding from the beginning of the five lessons and also shows success in teaching the material, While students were given the option to guess or skip a question, this happened far less in the summative assessment showing more unanimous progress and ability to meet the learning targets.

The information presented in this organizer shows the progress my students made throughout the week, starting with the pre-assessment, going through each of the lessons and the summative assessment. This shows that everyone was able to make progress between the beginning and the end of the week with an increase being made by every student. While the exit tickets weren't listed in the data, all my students were able to accurately complete every day's exit ticket and prove that they knew the content. I noticed that many of my students showed progress through each lesson and even though there are some students that did not meet the objective for most of the lessons, they still showed growth. 84% of my students got 8 or more of the questions correct on the summative assessment, showing that the majority of my class was successful in understanding the material. Another observation that I made was that my ELL students, while given modified material after day 2, still predominantly showed great growth. With this said, I feel that a different summative assessment should have been made that was catered more towards the work they did, using visual aids to support them. In all, I feel the week was a success and this data shows that.
Feedback was provided for the students on a daily basis during their group work. Rather than putting a letter grade on each day's lesson for the students,I spoke with them individually about concerns or questions I had regarding their work. This allowed more personal connections with the students and also provided the same grading structure to be used with all the students. In addition, feedback was given based on the changes I made in future lessons. For example, if I felt a group or individual needed more support with a topic, I made time in the next day's group work to pull them aside separately and work through the issues. This allowed for guided support where necessary while also being able to build on the new knowledge more effectively.
Overall, i am happy with the progress and work that was done by my students. Based on the results from the tests as well as the individual monitoring of each student, I feel as though my students are prepared to continue as a whole into the next unit. While some students, including my ELL students, may benefit from small group practice with this material a little more, I don't feel like anyone is far behind. This unit of lessons turned out to be successful in providing new information and preparing students for the new material to come.
