My students were asked to take a survey in which they highlighted something that went well during my five lessons, something that I could improve on and how each lesson went for them individually. This showed both quantitative and qualitative data surrounding their understanding. At the bottom students rated themselves for the week on how they did in their minds. These surveys show that many students were comfortable with the material they learned and . further proved the success that came from these lessons as a whole. In addition, the suggestions that were given by students were helpful including keeping my information on the board longer and having better explanations for the material. These are some insights that I will take with me into future lessons to make them better. While I was surprised at how some of the students rated themselves, I feel like overall my class understood this information and these surveys generally convey that.
Learning Target 1: I understand how to add fractions
I feel as though this learning target was more successful based on the results of the summative assessment as well as the work done by the students, The data shows that this questions about adding were most widely answered correctly on the summative assessment, and in the individual lessons, students mainly met for the lessons surrounding adding. I feel as though this is due in part to the pre-conceived understanding students have with adding as well as the way i taught these lessons. As noted in my CFA, i have a lot of students that speak a varying degree of languages, making the word problems hard for some students, particularly my ELL students. Because of this, my creation of the modified learning materials made these lessons easier as well.

Leaning Target 2: I understand how to subtract fractions
I feel as though this learning target was harder for my students based on the surveys they filled out as well as the video I reflected on. In the video I found that many of my students seemed confused at times with the instructions and were stuck while I was working with others. This showed in the lack of completed work as well as through their incorrect answers, I think my instruction during the mini-lesson confused some students, but also the work they were asked to do contained subtracting improper fractions which was new to some. These combined elements seemed to make this target harder to reach, though I think most of my students did well overall with it. The surveys also seemed to show a high number of concern and struggle with the subtraction lessons, correlating to my instruction and explanation of the material. In my CFA, it is noted that I have several visual learners, so providing more aids and representations may have supported this target better.
Personal Reflection and Professional Learning Goals:
In all, I feel as though my performance throughout this TWS was successful, though there's improvements I would still make for the future. The students showed tremendous growth from the pre-assessment to the summative assessment, proving an overall sense of understanding and comprehension of the material. I received excellent feedback from my students regarding changes I can make in the future, some of which tie into my professional learning goals I have in mind for myself. The first goal i hope to accomplish in the future, is to be more aware and thorough in my preparation of how I want to present the information to the students. As noted in some of the surveys, I had an issue with knowing exactly how I wanted to present the day's information to the students which in turn led to confusion at times with the work they had to do. More time spent preparing the material prior to teaching it may help avoid this issue Another goal of mine is to incorporate more resources effectively into the lessons, particularly technology. I feel as though most of my students would benefit from more online interaction with the material due to the technological age they already live in. While I used technology in the lesson at times, more thoughtful inclusion may create more engaged and effective learners. Moving forward, I hope to take what i've learned through this TWS and apply it into future lessons in my own classroom to ensure success and effective instruction as a teacher.
