The summative assessment was used to monitor the growth and progress made by the students. The same test that was created for the pre-assessment was used for the summative, and the students showed a lot of growth in their understanding. After completing the five lessons, I found that the test scores indicate a lot of success by my students. There were far less incorrect answers and almost everyone answered all the questions. These two factors prove a large increase in understanding from before starting the unit and show that the lessons were successful. The students that didn't score well on the summative test are primarily my ELL students that receive additional support during math time. This shows me that an adapted test could have been created for these students to take to better show their growth. In addition, I had students not answer question 4 on the summative test because they hadn't learned that material yet. This was a change from the pre-assessment and shows an area where more instruction will be needed in the future.
